I think Tally ultimately decides to go find Shay because she made a promise to Peris.

#18 "infiltrator" p. 120

1. Tally goes back to Special Circumstances.
2. Dr. Cable tells her that she will be going to the smoke.
3. she gives Tally a pendent that will activate a tracker when she finds the smoke.
4. Tally says she is too tired to leave right away and Dr. Cable put up an Ugly picture of Tally.

#17 "Peris" p. 120

"You'll have to tell me all about it. But don't you dare tell anyone else. Not yet. Everyone's going to be so intrigued. We can through a big party when you get yourself all prettied up."



I think Peris is only interested in the fact that TAlly is not yet pretty. He's more worried about getting the latest primary scoop on the latest gossip in New Pretty Town than Tally herself.

#16 "Ugly for Life"

I can't really relate to what Tally is going through right now, but it must be really hard. To me it would kind of feel like being the main attraction at a theme park, or probably more like having no legs. peole don't actually look at you because they think its rude, but as soon as they think your not looking they tune into their peripheral vision.

#15 "Special Circumstances"

1. Tally is taken to a strange pace with cruel pretty people.

2. She meets with someone named Dr. Cable.

3. Dr. Cable starts to question her.

4. She finds out that Dr. Cale knows about Shay leaving.

5. Dr. Cable asks her to helps them.

6. When Tally refuses Dr. Cable says if she doesn't hep she will never be turned pretty.

I find this quote inspiring! Shay is completely right about not having to trudge in other peoples shadows just in hopes that we can "fit in". Because the thing is, if we just try to look, act and think like everyone else it's not really us is it? We do have a choice in whatever we do and we should take that choice and choose whatever makes us feel the most like ourselves.

B.
1. Tally waits to get on her the bus for her operation and is approached by a young ugly.
2. The bus picks up Tally and drops here off at the hospital.
3. Tally waits for a long time the operation.
4. A doctor says that there is a problem with her operation.

#13 "Fight"

Both fights presented in this chapter were Shay verses Tally, but one was a silly fake one and the other was a serious agument. The first fight took place because they were just trying to scare some new uglies. The second took place because Tally and Shay had to different views of how to live. The first fight ended with a few scared new uglies , but the second ended with Tally and Shay torn apart.

3. Tally gets mad at Shay for not telling her part of the track was missing.

I'm not going to lie, I do agree with tally on this one, but only to certain extents. Like, when we were kids and we all believed in Santa Clause. I wouldn't have wanted someone to come barge in when I was a six year old sitting on Santa's lap, and rip off his beard. But, if it is something like somebody dieing and no one telling me, then I dont agree.

#9 "Pretty Boring"

The Rusties Ruins are what used to be an old town or city. It looks like people were trapped inside as it was burning. It was the type of city or town we live in now.

Peer pressure is when people your age urge you to make a certain choice. I have expirienced peer pressure, but only the good kind, like when my friends encoraged me to join cross country.

#8 "Facing the Future" p. 39

Personally, I agree with Shay in some ways, but Tally in others. I do believe that a game where you could see yourself if you were to be "perfect" would be kind of fun, but it would also kind of make you feel bad about your actual self which I am totally against.

This quote makes me feel ashamed. I would be ashamed of any place or time like that, even if it weren't true, but sadly it is. To think that something so shallw and stupid would cause people to lose jobs and even die mearly judging on there apearance, well, in simple words it makes me sick.

I think that Tally is wrong, sad but true. It doesn't matter if your pretty or ugly, even nice or mean. There will always be people who look down on others, and see themselves superior. But even more unfortunate, there will be people who believe them.

#7 "Wipeout" p.33

In the anime Gurren Lagann, there is a girl named Yoko who uses a hoverboard to both travel across oceans and fight evil gunmen.

I believe the new pretties don't came to visit Uglyville because the surgery made them believe it would be quote "bogus."

The pretty surgery alters people both physically and mentally. Physically, it alters your features to make you a certain standard of what most people find "beautiful." Mentally, it changes your opinions on things like whats fun of not, or what really matters about a person.

#6 "Shay" p. 23

Tally, after just jumping off the side of a building hover bounces into the pleasure gardens and sees that there are lots of hover cars and wardens around. When she goes to the river so she can go back to Uglyville she sees a dark figure, and thinks it's a middle pretty. After a while she accidently cracks a branch and, after appologizing finds out it's another ugly. The uglies name is Shay and she was there to spy on a few of her old friends. She offers to give Tally a ride back on her hover board, but she suggests they go on a non-tattle-tailing bridge.

Shay is a very adventurous girl, who finds what Tally did with the whole fire-alarm thing cool and amazing. She much like Tally misses her old friends that have turned pretty, so she goes to spy on them sometimes. I think that Shay and Tally will become friends, but then (unless they have the same birthday which is highly unlikely) one of them will turn pretty before the other.
